Blender Benchmark for Apple M3

Blender Benchmark for Apple M3

This review is for Apple Mac user who are using M3 processor with MacBook Pro, MacBook Air. When we are using 3D software like as Blender, the computer hardware, CPU and GPU, is important factor to show the performance for graphics calculation. Apple M3 is a chip processing as CPU and CPU.

Blender Benchmark is a data base showing the performance about the different CPU and CPU. Below is show how good the performance for using Blender 4.1 with Apple M3 chips is. This is only focus on the performance on CPU and GPU. If you like to compare with the CPU and GPU, we can find some data on official website - Blender Benchmark.

Below is a screenshot capped on 15 May 2024, Apple M3 Max gives a score 3734.4 ; Apple M3 Pro gives score 1509.33 ; Apple M3 gives score 382.31. Just a quick compare the other popular GPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 can gives score 5484.27 ; as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 can gives score 11304.24. It seems that NVIDIA GeForce GPUs are much better than Apple M3 chip when we use Blender Benchmark to check the GPU performance.

Final Thought

This is quick comparison for using Apple M3 chips with Blender. Apple M3 meets basic requirements to create 3D in Blender, we can use this chip to make basic 3D scene. If you are going to build a complex 3D scene, and need a fast render speed in Blender, Apple M3 may not be your best choice. Inter Core i9 should be better choice for CPU, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX series should be a better choice for GPU.

Check the box Statistics in Viewport Overlays, Poly Count of whole scene is then shown on the top right corner of viewport. 5. If we select an object, we can find the Poly Count of selected object. Furthermore, we have a video to go through all these steps visually, watch here . Happy sharing and I hope this helps. #blender #cgian #blenderian by...

Blender how to view normals and flip normals

Quick tutorial shows how we can view normals and flip normals. There are 2 ways to find normals in Blender, one is using Face Orientation for both Object Mode and Edit Mode ; another is using Mesh Edit Mode. We will go through the steps how we can show normals and flip normals in Blender. Blender how to view normals and flip normals Blender View Normals in Edit Mode 1. Select an object and go to Object Mode 2. Go to Mesh Edit Mode, we can Display Normals, Display Split Normals, and/or Display Vertex Normals Blender View Normals in both Object Mode and Edit Mode 3. Alternative way, we can go to Viewport Overlays, we can check the box Face Orientation, then Blue or Red color is shown on the face. These Face Orientation colors are working for both Object Mode and Edit Mode. Blender Flip Normals in Edit Mode 4. If we want to flip nomals, we can select face that we want to flip, 5. Hit Shortcut Alt N or Go to Mesh > Normals > Flip 6. Then, the face normals is flipped, the color is tu...
